Wow! It's been a while!

Sorry for the extended absence. Life got in the way it seems. So, I am back now. And I made a great little card tonight! I've been testing out some ideas for my sister's baby shower. I think this one is super cute. I made it in pink simply because I had some good pink paper left over from Valentine's Day. We won't know until Friday whether she's having a boy or girl. ;) So, here's the card....

Back from the dead...

Ok, I'm finally feeling better. It's been a rough few days. I have a few things to share tonight, but the batteries in my camera just died! Luckily I at least got the pictures of my favorite one!

I went to my stamping club tonight. It was so much fun. We made a card, a 3-D project and a bag. The bag is just adorable! I love it and will definitely be using this idea over and over in the future. It was so simple, but the result is just awesome. A simple bag...who would've thought? :)

I don't know why she bought the yellow bags to use? She said she wanted white, but they were sold out. I would have gotten pink or red, but anyway.... We used a velcro enclosure. It's the perfect size for a little goodie bag, a gift card, some candy, a small gift. I love it!

I'll add the pics of the card, the 3-D project, and a cute box I made today, once I dig up some batteries...probably tomorrow.

Shadow Box Frame

My sister, brother-in-law, and niece were in town this weekend. We haven't seen them since July, so we finally got to give Tabitha her Christmas presents. I made this for her to hang in her room. I bought the shadow box frame at target. I got the 2 designer papers at Michael's as well as the wooden T, which I embossed with some glittery hot pink embossing powder. Isn't it cute?

Alex's teacher gifts

I had to make 6 gifts for Alex's teachers tonight. She has her 1st grade teacher plus 5 resource teachers. I filled them with Hershey Kisses and Peppermint Patties. I think they turned out really nicely. I'm so glad that Valentine's Day is almost over so I can start focusing on other themes. YAY!

The first picture is of Alex's 1st grade teacher's box. Hers is a little bigger than the ones for the resource teachers, only because I was playing around with the size....and then decided it was bigger than what I wanted to use, so the rest are 3 inches. Hers is 4 inches.

This is 3 of the 5 boxes I made for the resource teachers. I couldn't get them all in the picture.

I made a card like this for each box.

A challenge from a friend

I have a friend who loved the little purple mini magazine holder I made a week or so ago. She asked me today if I could figure out how to make one that could hold the regular sized cards we make (5.5 x 4.25 inches). She said she had found instructions online, but it called for 2 sheets of paper. She wanted to know if I could figure out how to do it with just 1 sheet. So, I took that challenge. ;) Simple geometry, really. Here's what I came up with....

Sam's teacher gifts

I made these cute little boxes for Sam's 2 teachers and the director of the preschool. They're filled with Hershey kisses. So cute. :)

A Box of Kisses

I am so happy with how tonight's project turned out! I made a cute little silver box with some amazingly sturdy cardstock I just got at Michael's. I added some color and attached a handle with some brads. Voila! Adorable little box that I plan to fill with Hershey Kisses and give as a V-Day gift! Perfect.

The box is 5 inches tall, 4 inches wide, and 2 inches deep.

Valentine's Day teacher gift

I made the first of the Valentine's Day gifts for Alex's teachers (5 total, including resource teachers). I covered a cute clip with pretty paper, tied ribbon around it, and stuck a little stamped scallop circle in there so the teacher would know it's meant to hold something...a picture, a note, etc. I put the clip and a peppermint patty in a little plastic bag, and stapled it inside the pouch I made. I think it turned out pretty darn cute. :) Alex is also going to make a card to go along with it.

Is it spring yet?

I was inspired by the nice weather today. So, it's just a little spring-ish card. Simple, but I really like the colors. I wish I had more time this evening to do something a little more detailed, but it was a busy night. Sorry. I'll be back to interesting tomorrow....I hope. ;)

Simple

Not a lot of time tonight, but I made a commitment to myself. So I wanted to at least make a quick and easy little card. This is just a little 3x3 valentine.

Snowman

Well, today's card didn't end up quite how I wanted it to. I couldn't find the stamps I wanted to use...or the buttons I wanted to use. So I made do with what I could find. :) It's cute though.

Daisies

Again, I was without inspiration. I finally came up with something, but I'm not wild about it. It's pretty cute though. I think I'm just so pleased with the pink and black card that this just didn't excite me. LOL! Anyway, here it is:

A pretty little card

When I sat down at the drafting table tonight, I had no idea what I was going to make. I had no idea, no inspiration. So I started going through my designer paper. I had forgotten all about this black and white pattern that my cousin gave me years ago (thanks, Carrie!). As soon as I saw it I remembered the pink flowers that she gave me this past Christmas (thanks again, Carrie!). It all just came together from there. I had originally left the pink card plain...but it seemed like something was missing. So I stamped it with black. I think that really made it look nice. I was concerned it would look too busy, but I think it's just right. I love it!

Really fun card!

I found a great pattern tonight and decided to make this card for a friend who's been going through a lot lately. It turned out really cute. I wanted to use ribbon for the straps, but didn't have any that matched the paper I had chosen to use. I think the paper straps turned out just fine though. The picture makes it look like the straps are a slightly different color than the trim, but it's just the lighting. It's the very same paper.

More Valentine's fun!

Today I got my new Stampin' Up! heart punch. I LOVE it! It's going to be so useful. So I decided to do a couple of Valentine projects today, a Valentine's Day card and a Valentine's bookmark.

I'm pretty happy with this card besides the one little smudge. I think it's really cute!

I think the bookmark turned out nicely. I still need to add the ribbon at the top, but I'm torn about what color/pattern I want to use.

Cards for the mini magazine holder

So, I decided to go ahead and make some cards to go in the holder. I realized after I made the holder that my paper selection in that color family is very limited....and I don't have a purple stamp pad. So, I just made the best of it and played with the color scheme a little.

Mini magazine holder

I've seen these before, but never made one. I think people mostly use them as little gifts, you can make a few matching 3 x3 cards and they fit nicely in there. It's an idea I'm toying around with for my sister's baby shower in May. We'll see what comes of it. Anyway, it took a bit longer than the cards of the last couple of days, but it wasn't hard at all, just involved. I have the pattern if anyone's interested, just ask.

So here it is....the color is actually more of a true purple. I couldn't get a good shot for some reason, so it looks more gray here than it really is.

Celebrate

Today's project was a birthday card for a friend. I'm not thrilled with it and may redo it until I'm happy....still trying to figure out that darn craft ink! I like the regular stamp pads so much better. But the white is only available in the craft at Stampin' Up! I'll figure it out sooner or later. :) Anyway, a cute little cupcake birthday card.
